Children's Rights

 

Child Safety has an obligation to ensure that the child in care:

anglo family• Has a safe and stable living environment.
• Is placed in care that best meets the child’s needs and is most culturally appropriate.atsi grandparents
family• Maintains relationships with the child’s family and community.

 

• Is consulted about decisions affecting the child’s life and given information

about decisions (if relevant).support services

• Has access to dental, medical, therapeutic services and education and job training opportunities.

 

 

Can my child do anything about a decision that has been made by Child Safety?


YES! A child can:

phone• Contact the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian who can negotiate with Child Safety on their behalf.


• Tell a Child Safety Officer what they want.

• Ask for their OWN lawyer. children's lawyer
